Coach Kiana’s Story

Kiana’s passion for health and fitness began at a young age. She was an elite acrobatic gymnast for 12 years and had the honour of representing the Canadian National Team at both the Pan American and World Championships in 2018. After retiring from gymnastics, she shifted her focus to strength training and quickly fell in love with the process of building muscle and improving performance.

She currently trains primarily in Olympic Weightlifting and HYROX, embracing a hybrid training style that she finds both challenging and incredibly rewarding.

Following her gymnastics career, Kiana moved to the UK to pursue a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science. Around that time, she also became a certified personal trainer. She has now worked in the fitness industry for over three years, and helping people transform their lives through health and fitness continues to be one of the most rewarding aspects of her work.

Kiana later completed a Master’s degree in Nutritional Science, qualifying her as a registered Nutritionist. This is also when her interest in plant-based nutrition began to deepen.

She has been vegan for about five years. Her journey started after watching a YouTube video that exposed the harsh realities of animal exploitation in the meat and dairy industries. That moment had a profound impact on her, and she knew she needed to make a change. At the time, her diet was built around what she believed was ideal for muscle building — mostly animal-based foods like chicken, fish, and low-fat dairy products.

Although she was committed to transitioning to a vegan lifestyle, Kiana initially had concerns about meeting her protein and nutritional needs. That curiosity led her to explore plant-based nutrition more deeply, eventually inspiring her research focus during her Master’s degree. She learned that a well-planned vegan diet can not only meet all nutritional requirements but also offer incredible benefits for human health and longevity.

Today, Kiana is deeply passionate about veganism and animal rights. She volunteers with an animal rights group in the UK, where she gives talks in schools about the importance of veganism and treating animals with kindness and respect. She believes that raising awareness at a young age can have a lasting impact, and it’s a mission that continues to motivate and inspire her.
