Momentum Community Streaks & Quests
Thanks to all of your amazing feedback, we would like to bring Momentum Streaks to the Momentum Community! Woohoo! The purpose and general concept are similar to the VSA Consistency Streaks but with a fun new element: Quests!
To be clear, Consistency Streaks and Momentum Streaks will be distinct streaks. You are welcome to post Consistency Streaks in your Team Facebook Group (Avengers, Titans, Legends, and Guardians) and/or post Momentum Streaks in the Momentum Facebook group.
Momentum Posts Streaks
Momentum Streaks will be shared weekly in the Momentum Facebook group. All Momentum Streak posts must include the following base template:
—
Momentum Streak 🚀 Week 9
💖 The highlight of my week was…
🏆 My #1 mindset win of the week was…
😤 I pushed myself outside of my comfort zone this week by…
—
For each Momentum Streak, you need to add at least TWO photos or videos pertaining to your highlight of the week, your #1 mindset win of the week, and/or how you pushed yourself outside of your comfort zone. But we’d love to see you post a photo or video for two of them or all three!
Momentum Streak Posting Schedule
Posts must be made in the Momentum Facebook group between Sunday at 6:00 PM Eastern Time and Tuesday at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time for the previous Monday through Sunday. In other words, you have a posting window of 53 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds. If you post before or after this window, it does not count.
PLEASE DO NOT MISS THIS WINDOW.
Momentum Quests
Beyond the base Momentum Post Streak template, you can add any Momentum Quests you want to participate in. Quests are long-term challenges designed to level up your health, fitness, and impact. You can choose to participate in 0 Quests, 1 Quest, 3 Quests, 7 Quests, or however many you want!
PRO TIP: Start with JUST a Momentum Streak or a Momentum Streak + ONE Quest. We wanted to launch many Momentum Quests to allow everyone to choose the ones that most resonate with them. You do NOT need to complete multiple Quests simultaneously, and we highly recommend that you pick ONE Quest to get started with. You ONLY need to read the details of any Momentum Quest that you want to participate in.
Quest Rules
Rule 1) We rely heavily on the Honor Code for these Momentum Quests. Please follow the rules and hold yourself accountable. Winning some extra Vegan Superhero points is not worth losing your integrity. If we find out you are not being honest, you will lose the opportunity to participate in Momentum Streaks and Quests.
Rule 2) You will need to start at zero for all Quests. Even if you have 57 workouts completed in Hevy, you need to start at zero for your Training Challenge Quest. That means your 58th workout would be “workout 1” in your Training Challenge Quest. The same thing goes for all Quests. Nothing is retroactive.
Rule 3) You need to post proof for all Quests. Please post your proof in the comments of your Momentum Post (ideally, one comment per Quest). The required proof is specific to each Quest and is detailed in the breakdown for each Quest below. As an example, if you say that you walked 11,735 steps this week, you need to post proof of every step. This could be screenshots from an app that tracks your steps (such as Apple’s Health app) or a photo of a wearable device or step counter.
Rule 4) You must share your thoughts on the reflection prompt for each Quest that you are participating in. To maintain a streak for a Weekly Momentum Quest, you need to post every week. To maintain a streak for a Monthly Momentum Quest, you need to post every month. You must restart your streak if you miss a week of posting Weekly Momentum Quests or miss a month of posting Monthly Momentum Quests.
Rule 5) You will earn points when you complete a certain level of a Quest. You can only complete each level once. You cannot keep restarting a Quest to continue tackling the easiest level.
Quest Reflections
As a member of Momentum, you are a veteran Vegan Superhero and a leader in the community. We expect your responses to all Quest reflection prompts to be thorough and thoughtful.
Writing half-effort reflections does not contribute to Momentum Streaks and Quests' broader vision of building an open, transparent, supportive community. Generally speaking, 2 to 3 sentences per reflection is a good target, though you are very welcome to write more. We want to build deep conversations within our community, which requires vulnerability in openly sharing our wins, struggles, losses, and challenges. We all want the opportunity to follow your journey in detail and support you along the way.
Here are some examples of what you can add to your Quest reflection prompts:
Describe a specific challenge you recently faced on your Quest and how you overcame it.
Reflect on an unexpected obstacle you encountered during your Quest and how you handled it.
Share a positive impact on your life that this Quest has encouraged.
Reflect on a new habit or routine you’ve developed as part of your Quest and its impact on your daily life.
Describe a support system/person that played a significant role in your Quest this week and their impact on your progress.
Think about a specific skill or strength you’ve improved upon during your Quest and how it has benefited your overall journey.
If you want to start a consistency streak, then you MUST watch the video in its entirety (posted below).
I want to reiterate a few points from the video:
1. Working to build a consistency streak is NOT a requirement of VSA. If you don’t want to work towards a consistency streak, that’s okay! You can post whatever you want in your VSA small group and whatever wins you want in the main VSA group. And if you are working to build a consistency streak, then you are welcome to make additional posts in the group beyond your consistency streak posts.
2. We created this new VSA Consistency Award program for YOU. All the rules that we have created were designed to benefit you as much as possible. If you have any questions, we'll be here to help you!
3. These awards are not meant to be participation trophies. They are meant to be challenging to earn. If you mess up your streak, that’s totally okay! Please take responsibility by admitting you slipped up and simply restart your streak the next day. Many of us have done that, and there’s no shame in restarting. Please be sure that you understand all of the instructions to maintain your streak. Here's a PDF version of the presentation.
4. You MUST complete the VSA Consistency Award Agreement BEFORE starting your consistency streak. If you start a consistency streak before completing your award agreement, then you will have to restart your consistency streak. Here is the VSA Consistency Award Agreement.
5. Just to be clear, we do not gift consistency awards and never will. Not even to coaches. And not even to Leif or Anders. The only way to get these consistency awards is to EARN them.
6. Every streak is 30 days in length. Whether you choose to do a Level 1, 2, or 3 streak, you must complete 30 days in a row to receive points. You get to choose the level of streak that’s right for you, and you can switch to any level after each 30-day streak! For example, you can complete a Level 2 streak, then complete two Level 1 streaks in a row, then jump to a Level 3 streak, etc. It’s all up to you!
7. You can change your Level mid-streak if you find that your streak is too easy or challenging, but you will receive the lesser of the point values associated with the different streak Levels that you combined. In other words, we will not average point values from different streak levels.
8. It’s up to YOU to decide what is a nutrition or movement “win” for you. Sometimes, my training win is an evening walk. Other times, it’s a 90-minute gym workout. And still, other times, it’s a marathon or other serious event. You define your wins. Just be honest with yourself and do your best to get a little better every day.
Here’s how we suggest you use the Consistency Post Templates:
